We are still enrolling students for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.

Please Read *No School *

We have received official communication from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to close schools.
Based on this recommendation, we are moving to the guidelines outlined in scenario 3 of the letter that was communicated with families on Wednesday.  Although we have no confirmed cases in our community, we want to exercise all proper precautions to keep our students, families, and community safe. We recognize the burden that a school closure can have on a family (especially for a lengthy period of time) and want to support our community as best we can. We encourage all individuals to limit community movement and follow guidance from local officials.

Monday, March 16: There will be no school this upcoming Monday.

All staff will be present during normal school hours (7:45 – 3:30 PM) in order to provide an opportunity for you to pick up, and take home supplies from school they may need to maintain remote learning. Teachers will communicate what supplies, books and materials are needed for each grade level. If you are unable to pick up their items please let the teacher know so we can make appropriate arrangements to ensure we can support your child and their continued learning.  Students who do not have access to a device at home will have the option of “checking out” a school-provided device to enable learning to continue at home. Please communicate this need to your child’s teacher if you do not have internet access or a device at home.

You will accept all responsibility for the device as stated in the signed AUP.

Tuesday, March 17 - Tuesday, March 31 (at a minimum):

We will begin to implement remote learning options for all students. Every school day, each
student will have a grade-appropriate lesson, practice, or activity in language arts (reading and
writing) and math. In the older grades, additional assignments (social studies, science, and
religion) will be communicated through online means.  Teachers will provide a list of educational resources to supplement materials and provide students with educational support.

We pray for all those affected by this situation and pray that we can move forward with caution and strength.   As always, we will continue to communicate and provide updates as the situation evolves.

St. Rose of Lima was first designated a Roman Catholic parish in 1921 to serve the area of Simi, Santa Susana, and Moorpark. In 1996 -- in honor of the 75th Anniversary of St. Rose of Lima parish -- the church compiled a complete parish history.

We are recognized by the National Wildlife Federation as only 1 of 4 schools in California and 1 of 106 schools nationwide as an "Eco-School" and have been awarded their highest level of achievement - the "Green Flag"!
